Do not take our word for it
Every permit we pull is public record.
Reviews can be bought. Photographs can be borrowed. A permit record cannot be either, and Chicago publishes all of them for free.
The City of Chicago publishes every building permit issued since 2006 as a free, daily updated dataset, and the record includes the contractor names on the job.
- 01
Open the Chicago Data Portal building permits dataset, linked opposite. It is free and needs no account.
- 02
Filter on contractor name, or search an address on a street where you have seen our truck.
- 03
Read the work description, the date and the address. That is the job as the City recorded it, not as we described it.
- 04
If you are in a suburb, ask your village for the same thing. Every one of them keeps the record, and we will give you the addresses to look up.
One more thing worth knowing, because almost every contractor page in this city gets it wrong: Illinois does not license general contractors at state level. There is no state licence to hold, so the phrase licensed and insured, on its own, tells you nothing. What is real is a City of Chicago contractor licence with its class, village registrations, and a certificate of insurance with a named insurer. Ask us for all of them. Ask the other two bidders as well.

- Ask us for the licence number and the certificate of insurance. We send both before you commit to anything.

In their own words
Ask the neighbours.
Every review links to where it was posted, so you can read it on the platform rather than on our own website. Inventing one has been a federal matter since the FTC review rule took effect in October 2024, and we would rather have three real ones than thirty we made up.
We only publish reviews that are posted on a public platform, word for word, with a link to the original. When there are some, they appear here.
